Is there a company or person that does SEO work?

I get a lot of work from YELP, they are my biggest web tool to bring people into my website. I don't want to have all my eggs in one basket so is there a way to make my website more visible in my area? I am not a SEO guy or a website guy so I need to sub this work out to someone who knows this service. I know Fred is one of the top MB specialist in this area but not sure if he is still doing it.

How much generally does it cost to keep a website optimized per month?

I was told my website doesn't rank very well.
